Date: 3rd May, 2026
Speaker: Rev. (Dr.) Umoren S. Akpan
Topic: Praise the Lord God Almighty – The God of All Flesh
Text: Psalm 92:1–15
Introduction:
The month of May is anchored on the powerful declaration in Jeremiah 32:27:
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”
This profound truth reminds us of God’s limitless power and sovereignty over all creation. As the God of all flesh, He deserves not just occasional acknowledgment, but continual praise. Praise is not merely an activity, it is a responsibility, a duty we owe God. When we praise Him sincerely, He reveals Himself in mighty ways, demonstrating that truly, nothing is impossible with Him.
The Call to Praise:
The book of Psalms repeatedly emphasizes the importance of praising God:
Psalm 150:1 – “Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.”
We are called not only to praise God ;but to celebrate Him, for His love, His goodness, His faithfulness, and His mighty works. Praise invites God’s presence, perfects our testimonies, and executes judgement upon our enemies.
Revelation 4:11 – “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things…”
Everything that exists was created to glorify God. As the sheep of His pasture, our lives should daily reflect this purpose.
Psalm 92:1 – “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:”
When we praise God, He lifts us up, manifests His grace in our lives, and establishes prosperity in our homes.
Praise brings joy, strength, and fruitfulness, even in old age.
Reasons to Praise the God of All Flesh
1. For His Unfailing Love and Mercy:
Lamentations 3:22 – “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.”
Romans 8:38 – “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life… shall be able to separate us from the love of God…”
God’s love is constant and unbreakable. It was this love that made him send his only begotten son to die on the cross.
Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
2. For His Protection Over Us:
Psalm 91:1 – “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
God is our refuge and fortress. He shields those who trust in Him and calls them according to His purpose.
Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God…”
His presence guarantees our safety and sustains us through every challenge.
3. For His Comfort in Times of Trouble:
Psalm 120:1 – “In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.”
God is ever-present in times of distress. He not only stands with us but delivers us from every trouble we face.
What God Expects From Us
1. A Heart of Love and Continuous Praise
To truly connect with God, we must love Him wholeheartedly and make praise a lifestyle. Like King David, we are called to honor God continually through worship, Thanksgiving and praise.
2. A Life Devoted to Worship:
Praise is not optional, it is our divine assignment, our service to God. We were created for God’s glory, and our lives should consistently reflect that purpose through heartfelt worship.
The Power of Praise:
Praise opens the heavens over a man’s life. It invites divine intervention, releases blessings, and positions us for victory. When praise becomes a lifestyle, God’s presence becomes our constant reality.
Conclusion:
As we journey through this month, let us remain conscious of who God is, the God of all flesh, with whom nothing is impossible. Let praise continually flow from our hearts, not just in moments of need, but as a daily expression of gratitude and reverence to God Almighty.
When we choose to praise Him in all circumstances, we activate His power and his presence in our lives, experience His faithfulness, and walk in the fullness of His promises.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
